OT Understood

Occupational therapy (OT) helps individuals build the skills they need to fully participate in daily life — from getting dressed and playing with friends to regulating emotions, focusing in school, or managing transitions and routines. For children, this means supporting the developmental building blocks of everyday function, play, learning, and relationships. At its heart, OT is about creating pathways for independence, confidence, and connection.

Sage OT helps children develop the foundational skills they need to thrive in daily life. Whether your child is struggling to stay regulated in a busy classroom, having trouble with handwriting, having meltdowns about clothing, or facing challenges following routines–Sage OT can offer strategies, support, and hope.

Science Kit

Grounded in Science. Guided by Compassion.

Sage OT practice is rooted in advanced training in neurobiology, sensory-motor development, neuroplasticity, and trauma-informed care. Sarah understands how the brain grows and adapts, how the body and mind connect, and how safety and relationship are foundational to meaningful progress. Every plan is individualized, developmentally attuned, and deeply respectful of your child’s unique nervous system and story.

Together with Sage OT, you will uncover your child’s strengths, meet challenges with curiosity and creativity, and build tools that support lifelong growth and well-being.

Kids Playing Tug of War

Supporting Kids Where Life Happens

At Sage OT, Sarah believes therapy should be as dynamic as life itself. That’s why your therapeutic process doesn’t stop at the clinic door. Sage OT was founded with the understanding that the tools and equipment available in the clinic are often invaluable to the therapy process but that isolating therapeutic intervention to only one environment can limit progress. Additionally, Sarah knows finding the time to fit therapy into your daily life sometimes is just another barrier to meeting your goals. She is committed to meeting each child and family where they are — whether that's at home, in the classroom, on the playground, or within the community. Because growth doesn’t only happen on a therapy mat — it happens in real-time, real-life environments.

This flexible, responsive model allows Sarah to support your child in the spaces where challenges show up, and where success truly matters. Most children benefit from a combination of approaches to optimize mastery of skills in all the places and spaces they live.
